Kolek shows up to tell a tale of…

The Kahuna ‘ana’ana sat quietly for what seemed like a lifetime to the youth, and then spoke.
“Kako’o, the death chant… it is not a real thing. It worked in the old days only because people believed in it, literally dying from their fear.
“However, there are strong lessons, values and skills that can be learned from the old ways…”
In a rush of rage the student screamed and picked up a nearby pan. “I’ll kill you now you old deceitful bastard!”
Suddenly there was a red flash and the youth crumpled, dead.
The Kahuna shook his head sadly. Yet another Kako’o failed.

Kolek shows up to tell a tale of…

The young man listened eagerly to the last known Kahuna ‘ana’ana.
Kahuna literally means “to care for the secret”, and this caretaker was the last of his kind, the ‘ana’ana class of black sorcerers.
Most Kahuna in ancient Hawai’i specialized in harmless fields such as medicine or ship building. Not so the ‘ana’ana.
The youth spent months with the teacher hoping to learn the lethal death chants.
The old Hawaiian was frustratingly cautious and distrustful, however, and only recently has the Kahuna invested any measure of trust into the youth.
Now he would finally learn the Kahuna’s secrets…

Kolek returns with the latest chapter from the Invasion Series:

… The beams of their flashlights showed a fine, orange dust floating in the air. It behaved like normal dust, except Steve, who was allergic to dust, did not sneeze.
The leader, Ninja One, filed that away in his head and continued to search for any objects, buttons, or recesses, but found none.
The unit withdrew and reported to Lisa, recommending that a more thorough search be done by forensics. Team Ninja was sent to do another job.
In the middle of his new mission, Ninja One remembered that he forgot to report the dust.
“Oh well, I’ll report it later.”

Kolek is back with yet another chapter in the Invasion series…

Murray and Lisa left and closed the tarp behind them. They didn’t know what lay inside, and caution was best in this situation.
Team Ninja was called in to lead the way.
Ninja was made up of 12 highly trained former Rangers, Seals, SWAT, and Urban warfare soldiers who fought for the resistance. They quickly threw in a flash bomb and stormed the tomb.
But what they found was not a tomb, or a high-tech bunker, or anything they expected, but a large, simple room with blank walls. However, when they searched with their flashlights, they found something very odd…

Murray quickly got down to business. He entered the Biotank with his brother and tore open the envelope. “Looks like they found an ancient tomb” Murray told his brother, breaking regulations, “They want me over”.
“Is the resistance so hungry they’ll go corpse hunting?” Jim joked.
“Heh, probably something…” Murray stopped in mid-sentence when he remembered the intel he recovered.
“What?” Jim asked.
“I think this might have something to do with information I stole from the aliens…”
He reread the packet and sure enough, the picture matched the description he recovered of the Artifact’s resting place. They found it !

Murray resigned himself to a quick and violent death when he spotted the Biotank heading his way. There was no cover here against the tank’s railguns.
So he was surprised when he saw blue stripes on it’s sides; it was human occupied! The tank’s rear hatch opened and his brother, Jim Murray, climbed out.
“They sent me over,” Jim said, “without telling me anything”.
“Need to know.” Murray commented, as Jim handed him a packet.
“Why do they always trust you?” Jim complained, rolling his eyes.
“You’re not authorized to know,” Murray said with a grin, and they laughed.

“Shoulda put that damn phone on vibrate” Murray thought when his phone loudly shrieked. The aliens began firing their weapons and he ducked. He then detonated the pack bomb. It didn’t hurt them, but it did stun them momentarily.
He took the opportunity to flee and take the call. “I’m in some deep kim-chee here, what is it?”
“We found a… thing at LH-5.” His caller said. Murray shut the phone and continued running. He wondered what the “thing” was.
Now, however, he had other things to worry about. He saw a Bio-tank lumber down the street towards him.
